As an enthusiast photographer, the lack of manual control when using a point-and-shoot compact camera can be frustrating, fortunately, the latest in Panasonic’s LX series is aimed at those photographers who demand more from a compact camera than just the ability to point and press the shutter. With its somewhat retro looks, solid build, and excellent, wide and relatively fast lens, the Lumix DMC-LX5 is an enticing camera for photography and camera lovers alike. Lumix DMC-LX5 is really fantastic and a nice upgrade from the LX3. Panasonic really build a quality product with the LX series and I think the LX5 is even better.

Major Specifications About Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5:

◆RAW files – LX5 can shoot RAW files to allow changing WB and giving maximum flexibility in editing images.

◆Better sensor than the LX3. The colors are slightly more accurate and the auto white balance works better (I need to make less adjustments).

◆Better image stabilization. I am getting crisp photos at speeds as low as 1/10sec.

◆Wide-angle – 24mm (35mm equivalent) is awesome

◆The zoom range of 24mm to 90mm is just perfect without compromising the quality and speed of the lens.

◆Better low-light shooting. Perfectly usable up to 1600 out of the camera. Shots in ISO 3200-6400 can be used with some photoshopping. ISO 12800 won’t be very good, but nice to have if you don’t care about quality and just need a quick shot in the dark.

◆Manual controls – I love that I can set everything manually: aperture, shutter speed, ISO and the controls make it quick and easy to do so without digging into the menus.

◆Added 1:1 square format is really neat. Not a major addition, but nice to have. I really like that the LX-series has a dedicated image ratio button. Very useful and unique.

After one month trial, I decided it was time to write my own Canon EOS Rebel T2i Review. To be honest, before I ultimately decided on Canon 550D, I spent a lot of time researching the different models available. With its impressive 18.0-megapixel photo and video-capturing capabilities, this lightweight camera is a pleasure to use. I’ve been using it for about one month now, and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it in different situations. Now I want to share some of my experiences about how Cannon EOS Rebel T2i live up to my expectation.

Quality Images: With the capability of shooting photographs in bright lights to dim, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i features an ISO 100-6400 that is expandable to 12800. With ISO 100-6400, it really performs exceptionally well in low-light situations as well as bright-light situations, too. I’ve been very pleased with the pictures taken with this camera! Image quality is pretty good!

Video: Canon 550D records in 1920 x 1080 in full HD, all of the videos are of the highest quality. In addition, with a 3-inch LCD screen, you don’t have to squint to try to make out what you are actually recording on the screen.

Low-Light Performance: This Canon EOS Rebel T2i not only can go up to a significantly higher ISO level, but performs much better. Less image noise means you have to waste less time editing your pics, and many more keepers!
